Beach-side living is something a lot of people dream of. Waking up to the sound of the ocean splashing on the shoreline with sea salt covering the air is quite the experience. A morning walk with the fine Maldives sand under your feet in this environment is the perfect way to start the day. And you can experience that too, as we’re sure you’ve already seen on the internet.

Maldives has on offer some of the best beach houses in the world. WIth the view as soothing as it is, people have been flocking to this island nation to experience the sunny side of life. And with recent years, the number of tourists who want to stay on beachfront accommodations has been increasing.

With that in mind, we’d like to take you through the 10 best Maldives beach houses in 2024. Let’s get straight to it.

Criteria for Selection

We took into consideration a few key factors when picking the best beach houses in Maldives. Factors such as location, design, privacy and guest reviews, to ensure an unforgettable experience.

It’s important to note that while these factors influenced our beach house decisions, personal taste and experiences would also exist so we do hope that all of you find a couple of these choices to your liking.

The first location we’re going to talk about is Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi. It is located at South Male’ Atoll and can be easily reached within 45 minutes from Velana International Airport via yacht. The resort’s King Beach Villa with Pool is a delight to behold. The villa sits just a few metres from the shoreline and offers all the privacy you could want due to the vegetation surrounding it. Even the patio is safe from prying eyes while you take a swim in the outdoor pool or get some sunbathing in on the outdoor daybed.

The villa was built with a modern look in mind while still drawing inspiration from traditional Maldivian housing, hence the thatched roofs and use of wood. The interior design gives a modern and island-like vibe as well, with even the fans being made out of wood. The villa itself is 234 sqm / 2518 sqft, perfect for a couple or for a set of parents with two kids below 12 years of age.

The price for this goes from anywhere between $3,700 USD to $4,100 USD per night, depending on if you want breakfast to be included or not. This also includes service charge and tax. While it may be on the expensive side, it’s still valid due to the unbeatable experience you’ll get out of it.

The ground floor of the villa has multiple glass panels around it, which washes the inside with natural light during the day. If you’re an active person, the villa also comes with a gym, yoga platform and meditation room. A wifi connection accompanies the DVD player and Bose sound system for you to tailor a relaxing environment for yourself. And if you’re lacking in anything, the 24/7 Barefoot Guardian service is there to tend to your needs.

Booking Tips for Maldives Beach Houses

If you’re looking to make the most of your trip to Maldives, ensure that you make your booking months in advance to save on money. We recommend a leeway of 6 months to one year to maximise on savings.

You should also consider the time of year you want to come over. Booking for December will have you spending the most amount of money, as a lot of tourists come to Maldives for the holidays. If you make your booking for the dry / sunny season in Maldives (January to March), it’ll be a bit less expensive compared to the holiday season. If you want the most bang for your buck, try booking during the wet / rainy season in Maldives (mid-May to November)

Even though it would be the rainy season, it doesn’t rain that much in Maldives so it would still be a safe bet to make your booking for that time of year.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our selection of the 10 best Maldives beach houses. If you’re looking for more details on these properties, click the links in the ‘The Beach Houses as a Whole’ section for the full details so that you’re well informed.
